Win an iPod and a basket of Books -- Celebrate Release of "Sushi For One"

Camy Tang's first book, Sushi for One, just came out. To celebrate (and to generate interest in the book) she is hostessing an awesome contest. The grand prize, first place winner, will receive an 8 GB iPod! Plus a lot of books (I didn't count them all ...)

For more information, and to enter, go here:
http://www.camytang.com/contest.html

You will need two things
- you'll need my email address to put in the contest entry form -- SuseADoodle at gmail.com. Please be sure to use that, okay?
- a Yahoo ID so you can join her Yahoo Group, Camy's Loft. And you will WANT to join her Yahoo group because every week she gives away books!

An author who whole-heartedly believes writers are readers too!

The contest runs till October 31, 2007.

The book sounds like a wonderful read. It is on my list of "GET THIS SOON!" Books and I've scheduled an afternoon to read it cover-to-cover. Want to know a little more about it? Check out:

FAIR TRADE CHOCOLATE EVENT

Who doesn't like chocolate? There are very few people who don't. (They were probably given chocolate as a kid but were told it was calves' liver or something like that.)

Did you know that about half of the world's chocolate is produced with slave labor? For more information, visit http://www.stopthetraffik.org/ .

If you like to cook and would like to win a goodie bag of Traffik-Free Chocolate, stop over here: http://rkhooks.net/2007/09/03/stop-the-traffik-chocolate-event/

If you participate, stop back here.

In the comments section leave your name and the url to your blog post that you use to enter r k hooks' event, using Traffik-Free Chocolate.

I'll be posting this info about the event at each of my blogs. Feel free to leave your comment and link at each one. (One comment entry per blog please, though.) From all of the comments posted, there will be a random drawing and I'll send out a chocolate-related thank you to three winners.

DREAM! LIVE! LOVE! Share your talents with us all -- PLEASE!

I know, this is the blog I had finally decided I would try to devote to making Cards and other Rubber Stamped projects. Well, this post is a call to use your gifts, no matter how small you may think they are.

Kay, at Loop de Loops found this video at another blog. She posted it at her blog. While I am not a techno-dummy, I just haven't bothered to learn how to do some of the technical stuff with my blogs yet. So, I decided to send you on over to have a little visit with Kay. She's cool. She's got a "Nice Matters Award" and doesn't bite anyone. LOL And she has a great playlist of music that plays on this page when you open it. (To hear the video properly, you'll want to pause her player ...)

Go on over there. If you want, let her know "SuseADoodle" sent you -- but you don't have to do that. She welcomes everyone quite warmly.

Go. Now. Before you read any more here, git!

Just don't forget to come back ...

Okay, wasn't that well worth the trek over to Loop de Loops in La La Land?

This guy is becoming a kind of folk hero. I'm happy for him. And for us -- we've gained another great voice to bless us.

What, then, does opera have to do with rubber stamping or making anything?

Not a whole lot.

But, he had a dream. He had a gift and a talent but wasn't sure he did. He took a chance and he shared his love, his dream, his talent and gift. We are all made better by it.

Never underestimate your own dreams, talents and gifts. What is small today, nurtured and pursued can grow into something bigger. Even so, share what you have now -- be a hero to one today. Send them a "Day Brightener" card you've made or a short note or a magnet for the fridge that says "I Love You" (maybe not with words but with the thought behind it that got you to send it).

Live while you are Alive.
Love with all your heart and soul.
Dream. Believe. Embrace. Follow. Share.

Oh, please do share your gifts and talents with us all. Enlarge our world. Make us all better by having you in our lives and world.
